About Holy Light
Holy Light Church of Jesus Christ Assemblies of GOD, was
incorporated on December 28, 1975, by Reverend Marguerite
Hannah. The church became part of the Assemblies of GOD in
1983. Upon the death of Reverend Hannah, Reverend Stephen A.
Miller, a member since the inception, was voted unanimously as the
new pastor.
Holy Light is located on the corner of East Union and York Streets,
and owns the house at 131 East Union Street located next to the
church. The residents on the East Union Street are moderate to
middle income, and on York Street the residents are low to
moderate income.
The church offers spiritual, social and supportive programs to the
surrounding community. The church has an outreach program through monthly distributions of food and clothing; an elementary school, Holy
Light Christian Academy (H.L.C.A.), grades K-8; and child care, Four Corners Child Development Center (F.C.C.D.C.), infants through five
years of age.
In 1996, it became necessary to move the childcare portion of the ministry into a larger facility, three blocks from the church. This facility is
located on the corner of Clarkson and York Streets. This building is named the "L.I.F.E." building (Learning Institute for Family Enrichment.)
"L.I.F.E." is located in an urban community in Burlington City, New Jersey.
Holy Light has been an important ministry to Burlington City and the surrounding areas. Our services are conveniently located for those who
walk, as well as those who use public transportation.
